John Winton - John Winton
John Pratt , pseudonym John Winton (3 maj 1931 i London- 27 april 2001) var en engelsk författare och dödsannonsör , efter en karriär i Royal Navy där han steg till löjtnant-kommandör . Han föddes i London och tjänstgjorde i Koreakriget och under Suez -krisen . Medan han fortfarande var i marinen skrev han serieromanen We Joined the Navy , med karaktären "The Artful Bodger". Flera andra romaner och ett antal facklitteraturverk om marina ämnen följde, inklusive en biografi om amiral John Jellicoe, 1st Earl Jellicoe . Pratt fungerade också i 14 år som dödsannonsör för The Daily Telegraph .
